will not hold in current, effective in lakes,

"I recently aquired 2 of the 25 pound anchors with the purchase of a 18' jet boat. I figured that because of their size and shape that they would work excellent in relatively fast moving water. Even in relatively slow water both of them were unable to hold my boat. I have been unable to purchase an anchor that is effective for this purpose. They have been replaced (for rivers anyways) with two 75 pound steel I-beam pieces with teeth welded to them, which work well in all but the fastest moving water. I just wish I could find an anchor that could handle moving water but didn't require a crane to lift it back into the boat. Any suggestions? They work quite well in lakes but I would definitely not recommend them for rivers."

"I catfish on the Ohio River and this anchor grabs and holds in any condition, any bottom type. A bit expensive but worth it not having the aggervation of trying to get other types of anchors to hold. A+++++"

"I do a lot of crappie fishing and duck hunting. I have a 18 & ahalf foot gator boat. I fish & hunt a lot of rivers and lakes and I have tried a lot of different anchors and they would not hold the boat where I wanted it, This is the only anchor that I have found to hold this boat in place durning fast currents and high winds. Its a great anchor and worth every penny. I brought two of them one for the front & back of the boat as I use the boat as a floating blind in the winter and it holds in place even in high winds and fast currents. My thanks to Cabelas for their great service and great products. I have had nothing but great service from Cabelas."

Richter Anchor Description doesn't tell it all.,

"The description of this anchor doesn't do it justice.
Yes it holds. But, The real beauty of this design is that it comes out. If the anchor gets stuck all you do is reverse the direction of the hold and it comes out.
This is huge if you need to anchor in any kind of brush, or snags. I've thrown this anchor into the nastiest laydowns and brushpiles and it has always come out.
It is truly a brilliant design for those who need to fish in areas that eat anchors."

"I have a 17.5' Lowe deep V. This anchor will hold on calm days but will not hold with 5-10 mph and more wind it doesnt hold at all. We fish for everything and I spent a frustrating fall day trying to get this anchor to hold us in a position. I am going to try another anchor."

"I was very disappointed with the performance of this anchor, I thought with the appearance of it I had finally found an anchor to keep my boat still on windy days. I only have a 16 foot aluminum boat, it shouldn't have been asking for too much!"

"I purchased a Richter 25# Anchor for use with my Alumina Craft Trophy 175 / 115 Hp Merc. I fish the Wolf River for Walleyes which has very strong currents in the Spring and need an effective anchor to hold my boat. I have tried many anchors and most have failed me. The Richter Anchor that I purchased is the best anchor I have tried to date. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it. I highly recommend it for use where all others have failed!"
