"Bought this collar for my brother after using the 202 Gold NCP myself for a couple of years. They are hard to beat -- the battery life and range are very good, and the charger is quick. The button arrangement is simple and easy to operate with gloves on or in the dark. The vibration pager is about all I use anymore."

Great Collar and Great Value!,

"What a great training tool! I use this on a 12 month old German Shorthair and it works like a charm. I was able to teach her a reliable recall in days. We can walk without a leash and I can keep her close or let her roam. The 1-100 setting for the electric stimulation is great and I never had to move beyond 20 for initial training. I always preceded any stimulation with a quick vibrate and then went on with training and stimulation. Now, vibrate is enough, even in the field during hot pursuit of a fleeing bird, to stop her in her tracks and have her return to me. The collar has been submerged, muddied up, through rough cover and has not seen problem one. Super value for all of the features and very reliable!"

"Great collor for a hunting dog. The collar can be used at great distance and it hold up to alot of abuse in the field. I have two fo these collars for my Springer and Lab. I love the page/viberate mode on the collar for getting the dogs attention so you don't have to zap the dog. My first collar lasted 5 years before the batterys went."

Nice Size and Great Pager Function,

"I have had mine for two years, and it works great, and I especially appreciate the small size and the pager function. At the time I purchased it, my Brittany was an experienced hunter, so I seldom used the electrical stimulation - I just used the pager to get his attention. That worked great! That dog has passed on, and now I'm using the collar on my new pup who is just starting to hunt. I'm also using the pager effectively on her.
Another nice function of this collar is that the antenna can be easily replaced if your dog gets bored jumping up and stealing tools off your work bench and decides to steal the transmitter from your collar off the work bench and then chew the antenna up. Not that my perfect girl would ever do that.
If the whole thing ever gets chewed up, I would buy another one just like this to replace it."

Disappointing,

"I purchased the Dogtra for our new puppy three weeks ago, although we haven't been able to really put it to the test due to family emergencies out of state, the three times we tried it we got no results.
First time, she didn't feel a thing when it was set at 50. We figured possibly because her hair was so thick. We recharged it and the next time tightened the collar (it has to be quite tight around the neck) at 50 she didn't notice it but when we turned it to 80 you could tell she noticed it. We'll give it another try when things calm down family wise and hopefully Maggie will pay attention. She's a very large (part St Bernard) puppy so maybe that's the problem, but I wouldn't recommend anyone wasting their money on it."

I have used several different collars and this one is great.
the collars are very durable. I have two large dogs and they like to tear up collars. the Dogtra collars have held up the longest of any.
fyi-
when looking for a collar, make sure the unit and strap are not one piece. if they are, run away.
if the unit is self contained then you can change the strap with ease. otherwise you will have to purchase a whole new collar."

"I am so glad I purchased this... it works perfect for my 100 lb Lab. He is a good dog but needed some help when it came to running off. I was looking at some of the cheaper ones but I am so very glad i went ahead and purchased this one (the dogtra 200 Gold Hunter Series). I dont have to worry about buying batteries because you just charge it up. I dont have to worry about him getting out of range because it goes so far and I have only had to actually shock him 2 times in the 2 months we have used it. Just the pager button lets him know he needs to come or stay. I recommend to any one looking. It is WELL WORTH IT!

"I have 2 German shepherds who like to chase deer and especially coyotes when we walk in the woods. I was worried about injuries and also VERY tired of waiting for them to come back to me and my golden. I have used the Dogtra200 Gold collar for 2 dogs for about a month and love it. I rarely use any button but the Pager now, unless a coyote walks by. I am enjoying hikes again."

"I have had this product for about a year now and it has never failed. I have an almost 2 year old English Springer Spaniel who is full of energy. From the first time until now I have never had a problem. The Pager feature is about all I need to correct him. This is a great unit for the yard\house all the way to use in the field. I would recommend any of the Dogtra product, You get what you pay for."

"Great product, I had another for more than a year that I lost. I live in Puerto Rico and use it daily with a very active weimaraner (Pancho) that love to go swiming in the beach. Never had problem with the salt water, the sand or the sun. My dog loves when I go for the collar he knows he is going to the water."

"I have used this collar for little over a month now and I have to say that this has been a God send. I have a 1 and a half year old Lab, and he responds tremendously to the training. "Product appears well built and I have used it now going on the first month with good success. Sam, our 1 1/2 year old lab picked up quickly on the concept. Previous collars I have owned had no vibration feature and Sam has learned to "come" quickly now (NOW is the key word) with just the vibration supported by a voice command. The shock feature has a 0 - 100 scale and 40 gets his attention well and I have only needed it a few times to correct or stop undesired behavior and now ...actually haven't used it in days.
Sam was trained to get our newspapers at the end of the driveway but would sometimes head over to the next driveway to retreive their paper as well. Nothing I could do seemed to eliminate this behavior but I was quickly able to
give a "nick" shock in combination with a "no" and we have that straight. The "nick" feature is ideal ...... the continuous feature is not necessary, at least for Sam, except in the most extreme situations. Hope this helps."
