Good Things to Have,
November 18, 2009
By Zolt
from Virginia
|
"I don't like dry firing on an empty chamber, and with rimfire ammo it's actually damaging to the firing pin - or at least potentially so. Good to have snap caps in whatever calibers of rifles and pistols you own. I recommend these. These seem to be sized well and pretty durable."

"Didn't work well at all in lever action rifle or semiauto pistol. Seemed way undersized and did not want to feed (may not be intended for that type of use). Kept revolver caliber. Don't waste your money."

Snap Caps assorted calibers,
September 10, 2009
By DoySneck
from Hagerstown, MD
|
"I have used these in .380auto .270 30-06 .357 9mm .40Auto 45Auto 20ga and 12ga
A great and safe way to test feeding and dry firing any handgun or rifle. Great way to extend firing pin and hammer life in firearms by having a snap cap in the firearms when they are dry fired for storage. (This is what I need to do with my semi-auto handguns, shotguns and rifles.)"

Snap Caps,
June 26, 2009
By neafisherman
from Pocahontas, AR
|
"They are about 2" long instead of 2 3/4". They cycle pretty good in my 870. They will not cycle in a Benelli. Every modern Benelli has a rotary bolt head so it will not close. It also gets stuck. Its pretty good for any shotgun with a normal bolt but not one with a rotary bolt."

Great idea, poor design,
June 26, 2009
By Gunme
from Seattle
|
"I never write reviews, but right now I just happen to be online looking to buy some more snap caps for my 9mm guns, since these ones that I bought failed after about 50 shots. I have been using the aluminum ones from a-zoom for a while now but decided to these a try. They look great and load really well. The plastic round is very strong and clear, and you are able to see the spring inside that absorbs the impact from the firing pin. The idea is great but unfortunately it doesn't work for that long. I had shot them with my HK P30 and Springfield Emp. With both guns, around 50 to 100 rounds, the spring on the snap cap would collapse and then the false primer would get stuck deep inside. I would try to poke it out but gave up and simple threw them all away. This happened to all the snap cap that came in the package. These snap caps look great, loads very well, but failed to be useful for the very reason that I bought them in the first place. What a piece of junk. I should ask for my money back but figured it wasn't worth my time. Now I'm gonna go purchase the a-zoom, the one I had been using for all these years and would last for about 1000 dry fires."

Unlimited reloads!,
June 15, 2009
By gohard
from CA
|
"I have reloaded them hundreds of times now, and aside from Glocks scoring the rim on the casings, they are still like new. Great for dry fire practice. If I could only suggest one thing to all manufacturers of these products... make them heavier to simulate the weight and feel of the real thing. Other than that, don't hesitate to buy them."

Not Action Proving Dummies,
May 4, 2009
By sagoldie
from Southeast Michigan
|
"I bought these for my wife to practice loading and firing multiple rounds with her home defense Mossberg pump shotgun but they were short, less than 2 1/2", so they were useful only for one shot at a time and firing pin protection.
For my intended purpose, I should have (and later did) purchase properly sized "Action Proving Dummy" rounds."
