Pretty handy,March 10, 2009
By huntarkfrom Arkansas
"I bought this to keep with me in my hunting gear, the main reason was to keep some dry matches with me at all times. Compass seems to work pretty good as well. This is one of those things I hope I never have to use. The little ball in the whitle part was a little noisy (walking throught the woods), so I stuffed it with a little Kleenex to keep it quiet. Other than that, pretty good little gadget."

Surivial kit,March 10, 2009
By 99dragonfrom North Woods, MN
"This saved my life once already. A friend and I were up in the north woods in the late fall and tipped the canoe over 100 yds from shore. After getting to shore my lighters were drenched and wouldn't throw a spark and we were turning pretty blue. But the matches were dry, we had a roaring fire going in a few minutes. The compass does what's it's supposed to, help find the general direction if you're lost. It's not meant for surveying. To keep it quiet during hunting I put a cotton ball in the match compartment and in the whistle to keep the ball from rattling."

"This kit is of poor quality and I would not rely on it to safe my life. Unless you are just going to use this kit for a toy camping in your backyard, do not waste your money."

Smart product.,February 23, 2009
By Campero
"This Survivo is great to tuck away in your vest. A couple of aspirins, band aids, two or three matches, a needle for splinters, etc., with the whistle and compass it is far from desaster survival, but it can make a bad stuation, better. It is of great comfort if stranded from a group. This product is also a good gift to start young minds to think as they start their outdoor expossure."

Good to have,May 27, 2008
By Danny203from Bethel CT
"Not a bad little item to keep with you while hiking, hunting, boating, or anywhere else you might be in danger at some point and require the basic emergency tools. A little cheep in construction but it gets the job done for small money."

fire starter,April 2, 2008
By sawmillguyfrom middlefield oh.
"I allways play with the things that I buy first b4 i head out to the woods to c how well or not so well they perform. this little kit is ok as far as keeping ur matches dry. The whistle works good but the ball ratlals around and makes to much noise when you walk. The fire striker... well i think all that can be used for is the 4th of july. its too far back, and when you strike it you hit the rib of the unit. it needs to be put on the very end so you can get close to your tinder."

SURVIVOII,March 24, 2008
By BIG4JIM
"THIS IS A ADDITION TO MY SURVIVAL KIT, I FILL IT WITH LIFE BOAT MATCHES THEY BURN IN A STORM, THE SURVIVOII IS LITE AND CARRIES WELL IN A PACK OR AROUND MY NECK IF YOU CAN START A FIRE WITH THE STEEL THAN YOU CAN SAVE THE MATCHES FORWHEN YOUR FINGERS ARE FROZEN. HAVING THE WHISTLE IS VERY HELPFUL NOT ONLY WHEN YOU ARE LOST BUT YOU CAN SET UP A SET OF CHRIPS TO TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS AND I NEVER GO OUT INTO THE WILDERNESS WITHOUT A COMPASS ALWAY TAKE A SIGHTING TO WHERE I ARE GOING. A GPS IS A GREAT THING UNTIL THE BATTERY GOES DEAD THAN IT'S BACK TO THE COMPASS. I BOUGHT ONE FOR ALL MY HUNTING PARTNERS THIS IS CHEAP INSURANCE AND WE ALL CARRY IT AROUND OUR NECKS LIVE IN UTAH AND HUNT AND FISH ALL OVER THE WESTERN STATES THE SURVIVOII WILL ALWAYS BE WITH ME"

Great for the price,January 1, 2008
By suburban52from Sunny Cal
"I bought one of these for each of my three boys since we are a dirtbiking/hunting/camping family. I put one in each of their water backpacks that they carry with them on their dirtbikes--you never know when you could become separated even on a short desert ride. I am ordering a few more , for my younger two kids and myself (my husband even put one in his pack). The quality seems to be pretty good--compass works fine, whistle is a little hard to blow, is very waterproof (kid tested), and is very lightweight and compact. For the price, it's a great little gadget to have "just in case"."

Survival Whistle,December 9, 2007
By deerklrIIfrom Idaho
"Bought it for my 12 year old daughter. Works as designed and bright orange so it is readily noticable. Only shortfall is the whistle takes a lot of breath to make it sound off. Never been lost, but I know when I am hiking in the woods, I do not want to have to waste energy trying to blow a whistle. I packed a sports whistle as back up in my daughter's pack."

"Can't beat the price and all of the features, but the compass is really, really slow and the whistle is a pea-type (the pea rattles around loudly)."

"This was the perfect addition to my pack. I was able to get ride of my compass, waterproof match holder, and whistle and replace it with just one item. My pack in now lighter and has more room in it."
