"I work in a forensic lab and this product works great for clearing those loaded blackpowder rifles and pistols that are submitted. This is so much easier than any other method, including shooting the load. I wouldn't want to shoot a load out if I wasn't the one to load it!"

"Worth it's weight in gold. As a fairly new BP shooter I was advised to learn how to get a ball out of the barrel on my own terms, rather than waiting till I dryball at the range with only a screw, or worse, get a load that just won't fire, etc.
Got all my gear, the new discharger, and with a clean & oiled (never oil but wanted "best case" to test the screw) ran a patched ball down. (no powder) Got a good bite with the screw and much profanity later the rod came out with a plug of lead on the screw, but no ball. Ripped the core right out but the ball didn't budge.
Out comes the CO2 discharger, set a safe discharge pit in the yard (sand), and one squirt of air and a wet plunk sound later the barrel was clear.
I kept the screws for backup patch pullers, but doubt they'll be touching lead ever again. Now when my first dryball at the range comes (and I know it will) I won't waste a moment sweating and swearing, and be ready to continue in seconds."

"I purchased this device along with the adapter set that fits flintlock, #11, Musket and #209 in-line weapons. I've only used the #11 and the flintlock adapters, but both worked very well in clearing out both loaded weapons. This is especially nice for flintlock as it's harder to dribble enough priming powder through the touch hole without it to clear the charge. I found that you really need to push hard to keep the adapter(s) sealed on the nipple or touch hole to have it work right the first time. The C02 cyclinder is only good for one or two attempts, so buy extra cyclinders to keep in your hunting bag or shooting box. I don't know how long I've done without this tool for 45 years but I'm glad they have made them small enough to fit righ into your pocket. You can still clear charges or a stuck patches with worms, etc. but the C02 method is sooooo much faster without the risk of damaging your rifleling with jags etc."

"Want to give a heads up on unloading sabots (Knight Bighorn, 310 solid lead Knight sabots)and pellets (2x50 Pyrodex). Purchased Cabelas C02 unloader to facilitate unlodaing. Discovered that the sabot skirt does not apparently form an adequate gas seal for the pressure developed by the CO2 unloader to press against. Tried it with second unloader supplied by manufacturer, threaded and non-threaded cartridges. All samey same, hissing from the muzzle, but the charge and projectile stayed put. Have not tried it with loose powder. Conclusions: 1) good concept, but does not work unless the sabot is tightly sealed in the barrel; 2) manufacturer offers excellent customer service. Three star rating because of lack or warning about sabots, but would recommend to folks shooting ball and patches and maybe for sabots and loose powder (want to test it first). Happy trails!"

"This is a great little tool for hunting, especially when you didn't get the shot you wanted that day but you feel the need to unload your rifle, without firing it, and wipe it down good for the next day.....it's also great for your friends who do "Dry Ball"! Now, we all know there are two kinds of folks that shoot muzzle loaders.......those who have dry-balled, and those who are going to, and since we've already done it, we know what a hassle it can be. This is a quick and easy way to get on with your hunt without having to remove that ball with the ball puller."

"I was disapointed in the load discharger. There is no way it would it would blow a load out. I used up three co2 bottles and finally had to stuff priming powder into the priming hole and only then got the load out. You only get about 3 blasts out of a bottle. There has to be a better way."

"I only used this discharger about a half dozen times and the rubber O ring somehow got chewed up and wouldn't seal the co2 cartridge and was completely unusable. I found the exact same rubber O ring at the local hardware store and was able to replace the original one. The discharger now works just like brand new again. When I discharge the load from my Hawken rifle it shoots the bullet about 50 feet in the air. Very impression. I like it. It makes unloading a misfire real easy."

"I recently purchased a flintlock pistol that had a loaded charge that would not fire.... I ordered the CO2 discharger, along with a flintlock adapter (YOU MUST ORDER AN ADAPTER), and the system worked better than advertised... a quick press of the button, and a shot of compressed air cleared the barrel of shot and charge. The lead ball went around 20 feet, and bounced harmlessly off of a backstop. It saved the day; I was a bit leary of poking around with corkscrew tools in a "live" barrel (even though the power was most likely compromised and inert, but you can never be 100% certain)."

"At first I was disappointed. I opened the package and it did not have an adapter with it. It was my fault for not reading what it came with. After paying a second shipping charge for the adapter. The discharger works GREAT! No noise, just put the adapter on the nipple and squeezed the trigger and the ball came right out. I went outside and blew it into the dirt. Thanks for having such a great product."
