"Hunting in the deep woods, especially in cold weather, can often present some unique problems. Regardless if a hunter has cold hands or just wearing thick gloves, Hammer Expanders can improve that moment when a quick shot is necessary. I find them useful on all hunts in all conditions. Hammer Expanders are useful regardless if a rifle has a scope mounted or not. I would recommend this Cabela's product to any deep woods hunter who carries a rifle or shotgun with a hammer. "This hammer extension caused my encore to misfire each time I tied to shoot, as soon as I removed the extension the gun worked fine. I believe it weighed the hammer down to much to strike the primer hard enough. I would not recomend this product for this gun."

"This attachment works very well. The handgun I put it on has a 2x scope mounted on it and this expander made it much easier to cock, as the scope mount made it hard to get a finger on the hammer."

"The scope on my 7mm-08 Encore sits within 3/8 inch of the hammer. The expander fit directly onto the hammer without removing the scope and, once tightened with the single allen screw, had 0 play in any direction. I used the setup on a recent moose, elk and bear combo hunt in very difficult conditions in Newfoundland. It worked extremely well both on left and right handed shots. Meat was made."
