Our XML Series represents an evolution of our popular HML Series to a higher
plane. We added an updated, high-tech resin that better bonds the high-modulus
graphite to create a stronger rod that can shrug off dings and nicks while
maintaining casting and fish-fighting power. These non-glare flat charcoal rod
blanks are incredibly strong and feature fast, crisp actions, all with a thinner
wall thickness than rods with similar dimensions. This provides you with a blank
that is lighter in weight with increased sensitivity. Our spinning rods are
available in a variety of lengths.

XML blanks rock,October 30, 2009
By Metalheaderfrom Idaho
"I fish salmon and steelhead extensively. I also enjoy building my own rods. XML is an amazing stick for a very reasonable price. I own several top end loomis rods too and XML need make no apologies in terms of sensitivity especially considering the price. These are true, high performance blanks. That means that light weight and sensitivity come at the cost of ultra strength. If you are going to slap yourself in the butt on hook set then this is not the rod for you but if you are interested in feeling every scale on the fish XML is your poison. I have XML rods that have landed 100's of Chinook and 100's of steelhead and have had no strength issues. As far as straightness is concerned, I find them more true than loomis blanks of the last several years! The only problem I have is Cabela's seems to have decided to discontinue carrying blanks in sizes suitable to salmon and steelhead drift/float fishing. FEII is a great economy stick but come on Cabela's, bring these back in MY sizes."

Second XML spinning rod breaks yesterday,September 9, 2008
By IdaChuckfrom Idaho
"I've built 4 spinning rods on the XML blanks over the last 7 years. They look great, feel great and cast great. But, 2 of the 4 have snapped completely through after minimal use and no unusual conditions."

"Great value for buck, however, may not be the straightest blank. Also, had one break but Cabelas has the best cust. service. Have built about 30 rods."

"Over the years I have used this blank exclusively when making rods for fishing for Coho Salmon in Alaska. It is simply superb; the right amount of flex, and power when you need it. It also makes a great rod for Peacock Bass in Brazil."

XML Spinning Rod Blank,November 21, 2006
By jeddfrom Indianapolis, IN
"This was the first "premium" rod I had ever built and it turned out better than I could have hoped for. The person I made it for was as pleased as I was. I was a little worried about the strenghth of the rod because it was so light and small. My worries were aleveated when it snagged and landed a 25 pound carp 2 weeks after it was finished. The rod was rated for 8-10 lb. line."
