You get what you pay for,
March 2, 2009
By SlamminSam
from Pennsylvania
|
"This product is HORRIBLE. The trigger is so slow i can walk past it 20 yards away and it won't even get me in the pic. The sensor is only good for about 30 yards away. The flash doesn't reach more than 20 yards away. The worst part of it is the batteries only last 2 days. In PA the temps in the winter are from -20 to 40 degrees, and the camera sometimes freezes and stops working. So don't get sucked into the cheap price, because you get what you pay for. Do some research and buy a good quality camera."

rechargeable batteries a must,
March 2, 2009
By WVDeerwatcher
from WV
|
"For the price of one camera, you get two. That’s nice because you'll want more. I recommend getting an SDcard for more pics. Also, a must have is rechargeable batteries. Regular batteries won't last long (esp. when it's cold). I use the ENERGIZER rechargeable and can get several hundred pics before they will go low. Real low temps also play a roll in how long the batteries last. The picture quality is good enough for me, I am really impressed. Night pics are good but you get a lot of blanks because the motion trigger (good for about 20 yards) is farther than the flash will illuminate (Only about 15 to 20 ft). This is a great buy if you are starting out, or just want to see what out there in multiple locations. Very easy to use and set up. The only things I don't like having to re-set the time/date when you change the batteries and the strap for mounting is kind of a pain. For the money, you can't go wrong."

Junk,
January 19, 2009
By injk3
|
"Don't bother buying this product. The motion sensor is falsly triggered by direct sunlight. Not bad if you only want to position the camera north and south. Also, this setup is "slow". By the time the sensor triggers the camera the deer is three steps further and all you get is a photo of the hind quarters."

VERY BAD CAMERA,

By Evileyes

"Bought this camera and I am VERY disappointed with it. Iset it out in a spot that got frequent deer visits and got 10 pictures, 8 of which were nothing and 2 were completely white out. I would save my money and spend it on a Moultrie!"

Bad Experience,
November 3, 2008
By woody7708
|
"I had purchased 2 wildview cameras previously. One still works and the other is dead. Purchased the new Extreme 5 and got a few pictures, I think. Could not download to my laptop. Called the Wildview people, who first suggested that I needed to get special downloads from Microsoft. That cost me 40.00 and it still didn't work. Called back to Wildview and they declaired that the camers was defective. They ask that I call Cabela's. I returned the camera and I am waiting for a different brand."

"I HAVE 4 WILDVIEWS, 3 WORK GREAT, 1 HAD AN ELECTRONIC PROBLEM, AND WAS REPLACED AT NO CHARGE. WITH A LITTLE STUDY AND PATIENCE, YOU CAN MAKE THESE CAMS DO AN OUTSTANDING JOB IN ANY SITUATION. I WILL GET AT LEAST 2 MORE. RECOMMEND YOU GET A 12 VOLT WET BATTERY AND SOLAR CHARGER, SO POWER PROBLEMS DON'T GET BLAMED ON THE CAMERA."

Perfect for the money,
September 29, 2008
By TrailWatcher
from Northern Ohio
|
"Great pictures, Little sluggish on the trigger, Battery life without flash was three weeks. Most disapointing was the programining, a little confusing, not realy sure at times "Is it working?" Date stamp on videos next to impossible to view. My Moultrie 4.0 was more user friendly, batteries lasted 2 months, liked the "% batt"display. Picture quality about the same. However to be fair Infrared detection was poor in hot weather. Wildview perfect for the money, not ready to leave $500 hanging on a tree. Next camera, hair trigger a must."

great camera....,
August 27, 2008
By huntin265

"ok everyone thinks that the more pricey the camera is the better off it will be..wrong. i have multiple cameras out.range from 55.00 to over 300.00 dollars. and for all you out there that want to get started this is a great camera. people say they get whitey pics alot. here is a few hints on how to make this stop....take either your ladder steps or you screw in tree steps w ya and position this camera 8' or higher in the tree and use a mounting system w a swivel base. point the camera at an angle with the it either facing up a trail or down a trail never point it across the trail. with the camera up higher in the tree and pointed down will help the flash out and you will miss a lot less deer passing your motion detectors. this is a great way to get pics from cheaper cameras.....i have three wildview out and they take just as good of pics as my other expensive cameras do....i will for sure be buying more of these to expand my scouting .........use this advise for all your cameras and i promise ya you will see alot more pics and less deer gettin spooked by the flash...."
