Journey from the North Slope to Ketchikan across 12 Alaskan regions in the hunting and fishing
adventure of a lifetime. Each adventure begins at an outpost where you'll choose from thousands of
authentic gear options. Thirty hunting missions put you in pursuit of over 20 species of Alaskan trophy
game including Kodiak bears, moose, caribou, Dall sheep and arctic fox. It'll take every ounce of skill
and strategy to connect with a record breaker. Alaska is also known for fantastic fishing and so is this
game. Fish off the coast, on inland lakes or trek up a pristine stream for 10 species of trophy fish
including sockeye salmon, Dolly Varden and arctic char. Try your hand with spincast gear, a fly rod or
through the ice. A virtual underwater camera lets you see the strike and watch as the battle ensues.
Experience the thrill of both upland birds and waterfowl that require quick shooting and lightning
reflexes. Compete in a sled dog race across the arctic, or just explore your next hunting area with a
snowmobile, truck or ATV. New shooting features and controls include a hunter sense, gun sway and
drop dot. Coupled with realistic terrain, you'll need every bit of true outdoor skill you can muster.

Alaskan review.,
June 10, 2008
By Jeremy0050from Calais, ME.
"If you've ever played Cabela's outdoor adventures, this game will remind you alot of it. The hunter sense is still there for the greenhorn, and a nifty bullet drop really helps you get better shots off. Also fishing takes a little more finese to land them, and there's 3 different ways to fish; (ice fishing, spin casting, and fly fishing.) However, i don't like the fact that ammo costs nothing and that your ammo is universal for every gun in the game. So if for instance you wanted to use the 375. rifle for every hunt except for some hunts, you can without worry of payin for expensive bullets. But if you do the side missions you won't have to even buy the guns at the outpost, because the guns you earn from the special missions will fill every need you'll come across in the game. Anyway, it is a fairly decent game in that it does offer more for you to do via submissions, special missions, fishing, dogsledding, etc. and has lots of places to hunt as well. So if you liked Outdoor adventures then this game is for you, because it won't take you long to get used to the familiar gameplay."

"This game shows a good hunting expirience in alaska. But some of the animal actions aren't to realalistic. Like in one outing you could get attacked 5 or 6 times! And sometimes the animals run up to you and stop for like a minute. But thats ok!!!! But it does have a wide range of hunting expiriences. And it has that really cool army truck on one of the levels. Good game."

"The decor that I had bought from Cabella's was well worth the price. The quality of the products was awesome. I plan on continuing the decoration of my house with Cabella products, and my kids actually love to go shopping with me, because they have a great time watching the fish, seeing the large game, and learning about wildlife."

not sure,

"not sure i would buy a video game from cabelas online store. my game arrived on time, but i played it for 5 min, and the screen froze then when i reset the console the disc would not read. not sure how they handle their games but i was really dissapointed. the only hunting game out that is fun is the big game hunter... all the others have bad control and movement feel. you also get timed on the missions. how realistic is that if your hunting in real life your not going to have 2 min to complete a mission. you wait 4 the animal. make more games exactley like big game hunter. the platform used is great and it's enjoyable for all. alaskan adventure is a bad game."

"Cabelas Alaskan Adventures for playstation 2 is the worst game ever played. I have played many games and this reminds me of atari games from way back when. I would rather play space invaders than this game any day. Don't buy it unless you love to waste your money."

Alaskan Adventures,
January 15, 2008
By DrJoyfrom Scottsdale, AZ
"I tried to install this on a MacBook Pro using Parallels to run Windows NT. Couldn't ever get it to perform. The instruction manual (sheet) was as close to worthless as can be imagined. I gave it to my son, and never heard back on whether he could get it to work or not on a typical Windows machine. Probably this isn't a valid review because I was trying to use a Macintosh, but for me, it was a waste of money."

Terrible,
January 14, 2008
By PFallon
"I've purchased many hunting games in the past and they seem to get progressivley worse. This is by far the worst I've ever purchased. the hunting is unrealistic. Every animal that walks through the woods weather its a bobcat or a mountain goat can and will attack you and kill you which is very realistic I must say. the fishing on this game I can't figure out and I spent about an hour trying to figure out ice fishing. the directions on how to play are non existent. the best video hunting game that I've ever purchase was the original North American 29. Since then it's gone down hill and I unfortunatley just bought my last cabelas video game. I really wish I could return this for a refund. It's terrible"
