The Woolly Buggers in all of its variations holds a common attribute between them that is extremely
important and shouldn't be ignored by any fly-fishing angler. They simply catch fish and will do so year-round. Trout and bass consistently fall for this impressionistic pattern as will a myriad of other species
including salmon, steelhead, carp and walleye to name a few. Depending on the size, specific pattern and
color, they will imitate anything from nymphs such as damselflies, to minnows, leeches and crawfish.
Oftentimes, they will imitate several of these food items at the same time, which is an integral part of their
effectiveness.
