Royal Wulff Triangle Taper Fly Line

Line taper dictates casting performance and the continuous forward taper in the head of the line for the first 27 to 40 feet, depending on line weight, provides the most efficient transfer of casting energy because the heavier line is constantly turning over the lighter line. It also gives you delicate presentations because the line weight is away from the fly. With the addition of an exclusive J3 coating, the easy-casting Triangle Taper now shoots farther, floats higher and lasts longer than ever before. This hard-finish coating has a dry feel, which minimizes resistance, resulting in longer casts. Because the J3 is actually integrated into the line itself, the line stays clean and slick for the life of the line. 90-ft. length.

Great line

I fish only with older rods of moderate to moderately fast actions. This line works like it was made for these older rods. Newer rods generally have larger line guides that work well with newer fly lines - the diameter has been increased to increase the "heft" and therefore performance of the line/rod combo. The Wulff traingle taper has a profile that is more like an old school floating line and it is by far the best line to fish with a classic rod. This is a truly great line.

Finally-got a round to it

I haven't replaced my line in so long! Well I am pleased I did. This Royal Wulff line seem to do all its supposed to do. I got it in white, it is so easy to see. Its to early to throw dry flies yet, but size 16's nymphs go which ever way you throw them.

Best fly line ever!

I have purchased many lines over my fly fishing career and these are the ones I always go to. I have a dozen or so of them in various weights and colors. I have my best luck fishing in the wind with them. Not every day of fishing is a "Bluebird Day" and these lines are "Grace " for the fly fisherman.
I liked the lines so well I bought Joan Wulff's Video on casting.
What ever happened to the intermediate sinking line? - a favorite!

I fish about 75-100 days a year this line works great time after time. keep it clean and it will last a while. smooth long casts and nice turn over even with larger flies. i use it for the picky trout of new york and it has served me well... i have used the olive color 5wt gonna give the willow a try... color shouldn't be to critical with 5 foot poly leader plus a 15 foot leader on the end.
