Short front taper is specifically designed for casting indicator rigs and easily turns over the largest, bulkiest indicators. The thicker diameter, highly visible tip can be used as an indicator by itself. The ultralong head and back taper offers the ultimate in long-distance line control and mending ability. Made using Rio's high-tech coatings, XS Technology® ensures a slick, dirt-repellent coating. AgentX® results in a super-smooth surface and high-floating running line. Running line coils in the cold

Front floats like a log. BUT, running line kept kinking and tangling on long steelhead drifts in the cold. Stretching helped but I returned it. Just not a good winter steelhead line for long drifts.

I love this line. I purchased it recently and went on a five day fishing trip in the north GA and NC mountain rivers and streams. This line made my trip an even greater pleasure. The color change at the tip shows up perfectly in the water. This allows you to notice movement even easier. Casting is amazing with or without an indicator. I thought I may notice an area it was weak given its specialized purpose, but I have yet to find one. It is worth every penny.

I have a Loomis 9' graphite rod for the last 5 years, and was looking for some new line for this season. I saw the Rio color indicator line and was intrigued with it, so I had the guy load up some backing and a new box of WF6 indicator. While I haven't used it with an indicator, I can tell you that this line casts with ease, even in a wind. It floats extremely well, you may think that it has magical properties.
I heartily recommend this line to anyone, even beginner casters.
