It shoots very well and has a nice coating on it. It will be used for lake fishing or slow pools. Its worth spending cash on a better line if you can do it.

Awesome line for trophy trout

I bought this line for a specific purpose: Dip and strip a narrow river with undercut banks flowing at about 125-200cfs.
Its perfect. Overhead casts, roll casts, switch-type casts, semi-spey casts, etc. It gets the job done. Extremely slick coating that shoots amazingly well (it is, after all, essentially a heavy shooting head).
It will sink a non-weighted fly swung downstream and keep it there all the way back to the rod tip.
One little tip that I would offer. Since the forward sinking part of this line is black/dark grey, its very difficult to see the end of the line if you are stripping it in towards you. As a result you often will strip all the way into the leader making it difficult to get the line out for the next cast. Taking a little piece of neon shrink wrap or similar and putting a little "STOP" indicator about 2-3ft up the black sinking line allows you to see the perfect pickup spot to lift and recast. You can do this in rapid succession if you place the STOP mark in the right place.
Great line, does the job of getting the flies down to the fish. Works great in the still water too...sinks like a rock.
