Cortland Precision Platinum™ Fly Line

  • Gives you maximum line control
  • Memory jacket stays supple in cold water
  • 3-ft.-long, high-floating Dyna-Tip
An excellent all-around fly line to cover a full range of trout fishing conditions and challenges. A longer head, extended rear taper and larger-diameter running line give you maximum line control, both in the air and on the water. A low-memory jacket stays supple in cold water. The 3-ft.-long, high-floating Dyna-Tip floats higher and lands softly for more natural presentations. Welded loop. 90-ft. overall length.

Junk (sadly)
Date:
I reviewed my line under the product name "Cortland Percision". The line is, actually, the highly touted precision platinum. Read the other review. The net/net is that this line is near worthless, tangles, won't cast at any distance and is simply substandard. The 444SL is a far superior product.

Excellent Fly Line
Date:
I purchased the Cortland WF 5wt brand for my 13 year son using my older Medalist 5wt rod I've used for many years while on a trip to West Yellowstone in July 2008 with my family. We visted several fly shops in West Yellowstone and I only had two rods with me, one was a 7 wt. While there and on sale was a Redington RS3 5wt rod complete with a CD5/6 reel and line I purchased for my wife. I wasn't sure what weight forward line was on the RS3 but the Cortland line I bought for my son exceeded my expectations. It cast extremely well with ease and smoothness and at longer distance with less motion. It cast better when I put the reel on the RS3 rod. I had my 7wt rod and we fly fished the Madison River using nymphs, sz14-16. This line out cast and out fished my rod and my wifes. I had Scientic Angler's 4 Ultra fly line on my rod which l will replace with Cortland. I also will replaced the line that came with the RS3 package. I do mostly Steelhead and Salmon fishing but got back into fishing for trout on a fly again which was my intention for going to Yellowstone. I recommend this brand for any serious Fly Fisherman.
