Cortland 444SL Steady Sink Fly Line

The Steady Sink line uses two different line densities to create a line that allows your fly to sink evenly with the line. The heavier front section helps eliminate unwanted line sag by sinking slightly faster than the back section, making it good for stillwater fishing.
Colors: Medium Gray, Black.
Text Size: AAA

Quality at it's best......
Date:
Been a professional fly fishing guide and instructor going on 40 years and I find that Cortland 444SL Steady Sink Fly Line and their WF or DT Fly Lines are the best for any of your trout or salmon fly rods. Especially if you fly fish with your favorite bamboo rod. The line mends well in the water and allows you smooth forward and back casts....Just quality at it's best......

Cortland 444 Steady Sink Line
Date:
Here in eastern Washington, trout go deep during the hot summer months. While my type III and IV lines somewhat alleviated this problem, neither works as well as the Cortland type VI that I recently purchased. This line gets my nymph or streamer to the deepest areas of a lake and keeps me on fish while "kick-finning" in my pontoon. I've noticed a definite increase in the number of strikes I get. And to think I was relying on my type III and IV lines these past 4-5 years....should have gone to a type VI earlier!

Deep Sink Fly Line
Date:
I have found this fly line to be an excellent choice when fishing lakes where the fish are down deep due to water temps. It gets there quickly and you have more time at fish depth. When the conditions warrant it, this is an excellent choice for getting to the fish in deep water lakes. It casts a little tougher than some lines due to the density, but for it's purpose in getting deep, it is trully effective. I just used in in June of 2007 in a British Columbia lake and found it to be very useful due to the high water temperature.
