Cortland 444 Sylk Weight Forward Fly Line

This is the first fully synthetic fly line to duplicate the original appearance and supple performance of the finest natural silk lines, without the maintenance or high cost. The smaller diameter makes this weight-forward line perfect for the angler who uses older bamboo or fiberglass rods, and the mustard color nearly matches the look of traditional silk line. Its suppleness makes it a great cold weather line on virtually any fly rod.

Cortland Sylk Flyline

Overall a good flyline for bamboo flyrods due to its thinner diameter and ability to shoot through smaller guides normally found on those type rods. The only drawback I found is that a splice connection or nail knot must be used when attaching your leader , as a loop connector will tend to sink the tip. Again this is due to the lines thinner diameter.
