Cortland 444 Sylk Double Taper Fly Line

This is the first fully synthetic fly line to duplicate the original appearance and supple performance of the finest natural silk lines, without the maintenance or high cost. The smaller diameter makes this double-taper line perfect for the angler who uses older bamboo or fiberglass rods, and the mustard color nearly matches the look of traditional silk line. Its suppleness makes it a great cold weather line on virtually any fly rod.

Been a professional fly fishing instructor for 40 years and I find that Cortland 444 Sylk Double Taper Fly Line and their WF Fly Lines are the best for any of your trout or salmon fly rods. Especially if you fly fish with your favorite bamboo rod. The Cortland fly line runs smoothly through your rod guides giving you a smooth forward and back cast. The line mends well in the water and gives you easy roll casts....Just quality at it's best......

444 Sylk for Bamboo Rods

I use the 444 Sylk exclusively on all of my vintage and new bamboo rods (weights 3 through 6) and am very pleased. These lines match up well with older rod's smaller diameter guides and their flexibility is well suited to the action of bamboo. I know the old saying that when you find something you like, buy two (or more) and, therefore, I am tempted to buy these lines by the dozen. 'nuff said!

Nice Lines

I love nice fiberglass rods and recently purchased a 7 ft. for a 3 wt. and a 8 ft. for a 4 wt. The Sylk lines are the perfect complement for these rods. I have only used the 3 wt. but it has performed well, can't wait for our stuff from the states to get here to try the 4 wt. The flyline is what I remember good fly lines looking like when I was growing up. You can make very delicate presentations with this line, just what is needed on some of the small, crystal clear NZ spring creeks.
