Airflo Ridge Clear Fly Line

The problem with most clear fly lines is they aren’t as supple as other lines. With the introduction of this Airflo series, the problem has been solved. Ridge Clear combines the ultimate in stealth with incredible suppleness, even in cold-water conditions. You’ll find it easy to control in a wide range of water conditions. Tough coatings will not crack and delaminate. Ridges run along the full length of the line to reduce surface friction for improved distance casting. Imported.

A bit Sticky
Date:
I've heard rave reviews on Airflow for a while and when I decided to upgrade I went with this line. The ridge system doesn't shoot as well as other lines I've used (not sure if its just the clear line) and it definitely doesn't float as well (in fact it sort of sinks).
That said, for fishing without lots of line out I do think that you line (spook) fewer fish. This line is great for fishing small technical rivers, if you need a 40' well placed cast I don't think this is a good line. The ridges are suppose to lubricate the cast by holding water on the line, but when I'm making a big cast the line I'm going to shoot has been sitting on my reel and is dry and what I would describe as sticky.
Wanted to love it, but I would struggle to recommend it.
Finally, the welded loop began to fray (the loop is still functionally intact) after a hard week of fishing.
