Frog Hair Ultimate Indicators

Frog Hair Strike Indicators incorporate a quick and easy line threading system that allows for fast adjustments on all knotless leaders. Adjustments are made by simply grabbing the indicator and sliding up or down to achieve the desired position for proper fly depth. These reusable indicators use a retainer to hold the desired position. There are no rubber bands to twist, toothpicks to tangle or sticky residue left on the leader. Per 3.

    These indicators are light and cast well, sits up high in the water. I have a problem getting it to stay in place on my leader line but once i get it to stay in place it works well.

    I found these indicators work great for all my indicator fishing. They float high enough, are nicely visible with the orange and yellow fluorescent colors. With the below exception, they are easy to adjust for different fishing depths.
    The major drawback is the rubber stoppers they use to hold the indicator in place doesn't easily go over knots. This is a problem where a leader-tippet combo has been repaired or extended, which is a very common occurrance.

    Works generally well, although using 2 of the rubber stops on the upper side of the indicator will protect against sliding. Also, there is no quick switch with this indicator to change to dry flies, requiring complete removal of the system...

    Frog Hair floats work great. their major benefit is that you can readjust the depth as you go. Two drawbacks: If you are looking to use them fly fishing, they won't slide over a knot in the leader very easily. And be aware that the smallest size is made for unweighted nymphs, while the next size up for a weighted nymph and 1-2 splitshot. Above that loading, the indicator dips under with a small amount of drag. But they are very lightweight and the shape makes them pretty castable. MUCH better than the adhesive foam floats.
