Scientific Anglers Fly Floatant is one of the longer
lasting fly floatants on the fly-fishing scene today. This floatant contains no
solvents and will not damage delicate hackles. It flows easily in colder weather
and still won't liquify during the hottest of days. 1/2-oz. bottle.
I'm rather new to fly fishing so I don't know to much about other brands of floatant, but I don't think it is necessary to learn. This floatant has performed very well, a small dab is all you need. It lasts pretty long too.
I treid this floatant, as I wanted somthing that can be applied directly on the fly with minimum contact with fingers. It is easy to apply, and the bottle will not leak. But the floating capabilities of the flotant itself are very low. I 've been using Cortland spray floatant for some time and it preforms much, much better. It leaks and get's all over hands, but really make the fly float.
