Cabela's Alaskan Guide® LED Flashlight

  • Push-button-selectable light modes
  • High-output Cree LED
  • Shockproof body
  • O-ring-sealed for water resistance
These compact light sources have the no-fail ruggedness that's required to wear our Alaskan Guide name. Plus, they feature push-button-selectable light modes – a high-output Cree LED plus a three-LED array of your color choice. The hard-anodized, machined-aluminum body is shockproof and O-ring-sealed for water resistance. A crowned tail cap shields the four-stage on/off switch to prevent the light from accidentally turning on in a pack or pocket. All models have a patented two-piece aluminum reflector and a spring-metal pocket clip. 110-lumen Cree mode runs up to six hours; three 3mm-LED mode runs up to 50 hours. Require two CR-123A batteries (included).

a true flashlight
Date:
I have read the other reviews and i am in shock. I have owned this light for over 2 years and never ever had a problem. Tail cap switch works great. The main light does not work when batteries are low. This is a safety feature for you. It saves enough power from your batteries to run the LED's so you are not stranded with no light. So you do have to use common sense and change batteries on occasion. Overall the best most rugged flashlight I have ever owned.

Quality materials with a fatal flaw
Date:
When I received this flashlight I was impressed. Very high quality aluminum, hard annodized case with a glass lens. Almost identical to a flashlight costing 4 times as much and used by pilots. Mine worked fine for a few weeks, then one of the red LED bulbs stopped working. Cabelas did exchange it for a new one. For pilots and/or military use, this light has a fatal flaw. When you first push on the tailcap switch, a very positive push will turn on the light to very bright white. The slightest tap to the switch will then change to red or back to the white mode. This is a fatal flaw. Using this in the cockpit at night, in the red mode, the tinyest bump to that tailcap switch will turn on the white and instantly zap your night vision. Military users would have this same concern.. Also, the directions claim that whichever mode you turn the light off in, it will return to when you turn it back on. This is only true for a few minutes. after a few minutes it will always turn on in very bright white. Other users have had problems with the tailcap switch failing. All in all, this light needs a rework. the electronics need an upgrade and the switch needs to be redesigned.

Great Light
Date:
I own 4 of these flashlights. My son and I use these mainly for deer hunting.Once I realized you lose the white light when batteries get low, ( thought it was bad bulb) and figured out the toggle on/off white/green switch, I've been very pleased. Well made and very functional. First one I bought came with a nice cordura holster with small pocket for spare batteries, last 3 did not include holster.
