Cool idea, poorly executed

This porthole light was the perfect accent for my son's themed bedroom. The design and appearance of the porthole itself is great.
Two major complaints:
1. The glass dome's interior was painted with white enamel, blocking at least 75% of the light from the 2 lamps. The exterior of the glass is frosted which would have been sufficient. I had to sandblast the paint from the glass dome to get normal light transmission. Once sandblasted, the fixture is great.
2. No instructions included. Not a huge deal, as most ceiling light fixtures are installed about the same way and the wiring aspect is straight forward.

The fixture is rated for compact flourescent lamps, a plus.

If the glass dome was not painted, 5 stars.
