Great buy

We agonized over what type/style of lantern to get, for both in home and camping. This one has proved excellent for both.
I love being able to snap off a light to walk to out house or go for stroll. I used one instead of a flashlight to illuminate a plumbing job under the sink and it stayed very bright for about 4-5 hours, then I noticed it beginning to dim a bit. Not bad.
It's nice to be able to somewhat control the direction of the light by turning off one or more of the modules.
We are very pleased and plan to get more of these lanterns soon.

Coleman Quad Lantern
Date:
Very handy item to keep around, especially with young kids that have to have their own light. We use this in our 5th wheel, and it's nice to be able to use one, two, three or all four individual lights as the situation dictates.
Also very handy to be able to pop off one (or more) of the individual lights to let the kids go outside, or to use in their bunks when we're trying to conserve battery power on boondocking camping trips.
The 8 D cell batteries definitely makes it hefty, but I think it also gives the lantern a very stable base, so I don't fret over it getting knocked over. I put fresh batteries in the lantern at the beginning of the season last year and never replaced them.
I'd recommend it!

great lantern
Date:
This was a great buy. Takes 8 D batteries but it lasted all weekend with plenty of battery power left at the end. The kids could take off a light pannel and use it at night with out effecting everyone else's light at the camp site. The panels last about 1 1/2 hrs off the base and you just clip them back on and they recharge. If you have kids I would reccomend this.
