A Must For Every Family
Date:
If only the old farmer would have used Cabela’s Bugproof LED Lantern, Chicago would have never burned to the ground after the cow kicked over the farmer’s lantern. One of my strongest childhood memories of camping is the hollow whistling sound and aroma of the gas powered lantern. My children will never know this, because we’ve replaced all of our dated lanterns with this lantern. They are safe, light weight, durable, and operate a long time between battery changes. The one suggestion I offer, it would be great if this lantern had a higher setting proving more lumens, similar to the traditional gas lanterns.

Best Lantern I've Owned
Date:
This does what it says, It did not attract Bugs.
Gives off Great Light and did not attract bugs around ir into my tent like the guys I camped with. Their tent was filled with flying critters, mine was not.
LEDs are sweet too, Batteries last for ever, It is Light, and easiled carried. stays cool, the boys loved the nightlight LED.

Cabela's Bugproof LED Lantern
Date:
Very nice lantern. I was happy to see how bright it was. The only thing that I would like to see added to it would be a remote. I have the 12 led Cabela's lantern with remote, and when fishing at night, it's a huge help to turn the light on and off from a distance to check the status of the rods. The bugproof bulbs seem to work as stated, and the battery life is great. The batteries do have a bit of a trick to get locked down, but as long as you take your time, it shouldn't be an issue.

Makes fuel style lanterns almost obsolete...
Date:
I purchased this lantern some months ago. I was somewhat skeptical about the battery life claims and after all, it was a little on the pricey side for an electric lantern. After using it and testing it all summer I'm convinced it is one of the best all around lanterns for practically any use. The bug-lite feature is great. It puts out plenty enough light to sit outdoors and eat, talk or play cards. The main bright lights are as good as most fuel lanterns and much cleaner. I also decided to give the little night light a thorough test. I just can't kill it. I've been leaving it on all night all summer and it hasn't even lost a bit of it's brightness. It's well weighted and has a solid built feel to it. The folding hanger is perfect for hanging on the end of a dock at night when catfish are bitting. I've been using other fuel type lanterns for more than 50 years and have never considered using an electric lantern. Now, this is the only one I use for everything. I can't think of anything I don't like about it. Try one, you'll like it.
