Smith's Diamond Bench Stones

The ultimate in sharpening technology. Multiple layers of micron-sized diamonds bonded in nickel to a flat metal surface. Oval-shaped surface holes quickly remove fine metal filings keep stone and blade clean. These extra-large stones measure 11-1/2" x 2-1/2" and are equipped with a built-in micro-tool sharpening pad and sturdy plastic base with non-slip rubber feet. Each also includes a protective lid. The Coarse 325 grit aggressively removes metal to restore edges on dull knives and tools. The Fine 750 grit finishes knives and tools with a razor-sharp edge.

not a small hand size

The size of this stone is great for larger knives as well smaller pocket knives. Great for touching up an edge and keeping that blade sharp. It is not for roughing in a completely dull blunt edge as I think some do not realize this is not a do it all for all. If that were the case there would not be different grades and grit sizes. I think it is a great stone for it's intended use!

Not coarse enough

This is a well-made sharpener. Good size, good durability. However, I didn't think that it was coarse enough! I was looking for a sharpener to work over seriously dull blades or for reshaping. This sharpener just doesn't cut it when it comes to serious metal removal. I'll be looking for another, coarser sharpener.

Great to work with, it does not flex working on larger knives and still works for smaller blades also. The cover is abit iffy but the cutting surface is great.
