This peeler can handle a wide range of apple size, shape, and diameter. It makes peeling a 5 gallon bucket of apples a 10 minute project. I used the slicer to make perfect thickness slices for dehydrating. The peeling and coring function performed extremely well by peeling and coring 30 gallons of apples for dehydrating and making apple sauce. My son-in-law was so impressed he bought a cheap off brand imitation and he ended up spending all of his time making adjustments only to have it fail. He eventually had a fit and told me to make it work. I will not use any product that wastes time and causes undue stress. If this apple peeler sold by Cabela's does not work you are doing something wrong. You will not regrett purchasing this product.
