Hi-Tec™ Youth Altitude IV Jr. Hiker

Sporting the look and profile of a serious full-size hiking shoe, the Altitude IV Jr. offers great performance on the trail, at the campground and even on the playground. The uppers are waterproof, seam-sealed nubuck leather with a soft, padded leather collar and fully gusseted leather tongue. Additional comfort is afforded by a full-length EVA sockliner. All metal hardware is rustproof brass. Board-lasted construction with a steel shank results in rigid support that also protects small feet from trail hazards. The durable carbon rubber outsole sports a tread design that performs well on a variety of surfaces from pavement to dirt. Imported.

Great kids boot

My son (now 9) has worn these boots since he turned 7 and loves them. They stand up to a lot of abuse. Each of the two paris we went through was still like-new but he'd outgrown them. Waterproof as advertised and have a solid top to them for great ankle support. This is a great pair of solid hikers for your little ones.

I bought these for my 9 year old daughter. She has been wanting hikers for quite a while and spotted these on our most recent Cabela's trip. The price is right and the quality is great. She wore them the first time for the entire day and didn't complain once of any discomfort, as you would normally get in breaking in a new shoe.

purchased these for my 12 year old. without breaking them in, he did a 20 + mile hike in the tetons. the boots were great! very comfortable with no blisters.
these are the second set for him after out growing the first. these are a great value!!!

Real Hiking Boots

These are great, real hiking boots for kids. They aren't the usual half fabric/half leather, not very supportive, half sneaker/half boot. They are REAL hiking boots--all leather, sturdy, supportive, waterproof.
We loved the looks as soon as we opened the box, and our son loves the fit and support. He is almost 9 and has always had the "other" kind of "boot." He is thrilled to have real boots--like his parents' boots--and finds them great on rugged trails and around town alike.
This year, we know he won't get tired, achy feet on our big family backpacking trip; he has already had great success with these boots on very tough, challenging trails.
