Cabela's QuickDraw and 360HT Rod Holders with Side/Deck Mount Base
The QuickDraw Rod Holder sports a unique pivoting design that actually helps set the hook by keeping tension on the fish. Since the inside tube pivots, it is twice as easy to remove the rod compared with conventional holders.
Cabela’s 360HT Standard Rod Holder features a rear saddle that accepts all types of rod and reel combinations. A large, smooth swivel-locking ring prevents rod loss, and the 110 degree vertical swivel movement allows easy rod positioning for trolling and can even secure the rod and reel vertically when it’s time to relocate.
Available: 360HT with Side/Deck Mount Base, QuickDraw with Side/Deck Mount Base. Colors: Black, White, Gray.
I have had two of these rod holders come apart this summer. I use them when trolling for silver salmon. When the first one came apart I lost my pole, reel and gear. Estimated value of all this is about $250. It is now sitting somewhere on the bottom of the ocean. The second one came apart this weekend when I was taking the pole out of the holder. What happened in both cases is, the pins that enter each side of the holder, allowing it to pivot upwards, came out and the holder releases from the stand. They may be OK for small fish, but not for salmon.
I own a set of 360HT's and a set of Quick Draws. Both are well built sturdy products that hold up well on the water. The problem comes with different rod butts. I am a big fan of the 6' pistol grip casting rod when trolling smaller baits but it will not fit in the Quick Draw Holder. The diameter is too large. I switched back to the 360HT so I can use any rod with the holders and not have to worry about switching holder positions to accomodate different rods. The 360HT's work with any grip. Make sure you order the right holder to go with the rods you like to fish with.
The hinged rod holder works well when setting the hook. Nice strong mount with plenty of adjustments to get your rod in the best position for whatever your doing.
