2009 Big Buck Photo Contest
Any customer that wish to bring up his/her 2009 harvested buck for us to take the photo and hang the photo on the Brag Board will automatically be entered into for a $100.00 gift card drawing. The drawing will be held on Jan. 2nd @ noon. Photos of 2009 harvested bucks may be submitted to Jimmy.Lopez@cabelas.com, by mail, or drop off at greeter's desk. Please include contact information.

Scout Challenge
*All troops must be registered by November 18th.

• 4 Age Categories to Enter

  • Girls 12 Yrs and Older

Each Troop will be able to set-up a pop-up tent, chairs, lunch ECT around pond.

All troops' will receive a troop discount the day of the event. However, each troop will be allowed to purchase 5 items at vendor discount after the scouting challenge is complete.

Challenge's will consist of:

Tent raising - All members of the troop will test their skills in putting up a Cabela's tent. (Tent will remain a secret until day of event.)

Map reading - The Troop will be given a series of questions about topographic maps and compass reading. (Questions will remain a secret until the day of the event.)

Plant, Berries, and Mushroom Identification - The troop will have to name and label several different poisonous & nonpoisonous plants, berries, and mushrooms correctly. (Questions will remain a secret until the day of the event.)

Casting Accuracy skills - Every member of the troop will have two chances to cast a fishing rod towards a ring target.

Wildlife Identification - The troop will have to name and label several different animals correctly within the Cabela's Store. (Questions will remain a secret until the day of the event.)

Outdoor Safety - The troop will be given a series of outdoor safety questions. (Questions to remain secret until the day of the event)

PRIZE LIST

• Awards will be given to the 1st place troops within each age division.
• Prizes may be given out for some selected events.
• All troops will be given a Cabela's Scouting Badge.
• All troops will be presented with a Certificate for competing in the Cabela's Outdoor Challenge.

Mastering Performance Under Gear
The sport of hunting clothing has changed due to the new technology of performance under gear. Come learn what you need to be wearing in the field to feel the most comfortable for the entire duration of your hunt. Will show you what you need to stay warm and stay cool for next trip after that monster trophy.

Scent Control Seminar
Here is your chance to learn about scent control from a pro! You will learn how to maximize your scent control in preparation for a successful hunt. Come learn from our archery experts the importance of scent control is in the field.

Winter is fast approaching! Therefore, we want to inform you on the different brands or jackets, clothes, and under-gear on how each performs in the winter cold. Whether you need clothes for work or play, this is the seminar that will teach you what to buy and why to buy it.

We will show you the tools that you need to process your deer meat. Come learn the difference in grinders, stuffers, and kits. We will show you how to save money in the long run and how to get the most variety out of your harvest.
