Cabela's Salt Wobblers™ Jigs

So many saltwater anglers were using our Walleye Wobbler Jigs that we decided to offer them in a version better suited to the harsh saltwater environment. The unique jig head produces a slow falling wobble that keeps the bait in the strike zone longer. They're deadly on bonefish, reds and many other saltwater species. The saltwater hook resists corrosion. Per 4.
Sizes: 1/8 oz., 1/4 oz., 3/8 oz.
Colors: (008)Brown, (096)Chartreuse, (122)Pink/White, (656)Tan.

Great light-tackle striper bait
Date:
Last summer, wade-fishing for striped bass in the Napeague Harbor Gut on eastern Long Island, NY, I was frustrated that the fish weren't responding to flies. So I switched to a light spinning rod. After several other lures failed to produce any interest, I tied on a Cabela's Salt Wobbler Jig and added a 4-inch tan soft baitfish. Wham! I managed to land a few schoolie bass, and of course had a one-that-got-away experience. When one fish took off with about 50 yards of line, I got a bit too aggressive about stopping it. The result? Freshly spooled 8-pound-test Ande mono snapped.
BTW, you can fish the skirted jigs as is, or add a soft bait to either the dressed or undressed jigs. FYI, these Wobbler Jigs are updated variants on one of the best bonefish lures ever invented: the old Phillips Wiggle Jig. They work in fresh water as well.

Good Producing Jigs
Date:
We tried these jigs in the Keys for Yellowtail and Mangrove Snapper. Worked great - I think the wobbling action really attracted attention to the bait.
The paint issue noted by others is what I experienced, but with the teeth on saltwater fish, I don't know if there's a better jig for Snapper - even with the paint off and the trailer bucktail or feathers almost non-existent, we still got bites and fish. I only lost a few jigs in all the two weeks we fished.
