Cabela's Salt Wobblers™ Jigs with Red Eagle Claw Hooks
The unique jig head produces a slow falling wobble that keeps the bait in the strike zone longer. They're deadly on
bonefish, reds and many other saltwater species. And the red Eagle Claw hooks add extra attraction. Per 4.
Sizes: 1/8 oz., 1/4 oz., 3/8 oz., 1 oz., 1-1/2 oz. Colors:(008)Brown, (096)Chartreuse, (122)Pink/White, (656)Tan
(3/8, 1 oz. only).
We were catching mangrove snapper as soon as the jig hit bottom and was picked up a few times - bite was on the drop. The wobble of the jig seems to really turn on the fish. We were fishing plain jigs for a while and didn't get as many fish. When we tied on the wobble jigs, bite was steady. We tipped them with fresh cut shrimp - really worked well.
I use the 1oz, 1 1/2 oz and the 3/4 & 1/2 oz when they were avail. Pink/white & Tan.
Attach a piece of trailer and pretty much foolproof.
The shortshank hook can be an issue as it is too short for the larger sizes, but they still work.
On the small sizes, under 3/4 oz, I cut the bucktail off, put a jerk minnow on and toothpick is to stop the slippage.
The paint comes off easily, standard on all Cabela-brand jigheads, but I touch up with nailpolish. It's a fact of life with most brands.
The problem with these is you can't get a bare head in unpainted, with a baitbarb and good hooks in 3/8oz-1oz, and over 1oz, needs longer shanks.
But, I won't go fishing without them. They are too reliable all the time.
This jighead pattern is the best design I've ever used... Too bad it's is a patented (Cabela) jighead pattern, which means you can't get them elsewhere, nor can you get molds to make more than one of any size, nor molds for larger than 3/8 oz. Nor will Cabela's keep all sizes with decent hooks in stock, especially the fresh water models (those hooks are so far below junk status I can't even smile).
Buy these. They work very well. I'm back for more today.
