This product turned out to be a very poor facsimile of an actual transom pad.
I would not use this with an electric trolling motor.
It will provide no protection for the transom.
It is also too small.

New Transom Pad

I had purchased this item in replacement of my old transom pad that was on the boat for 3 years. During the installation of the outboard motor over this pad, I experienced two tears in the rubber as a result of trying to get the motor in position while trying to keep the transom pad where I wanted it. Looking back at my older pad made by Tempo (?) I wish I had not opted to change this out and instead tried to repair the minor defect in the first place. The Moeller pad does not appear to use the same thickness or hardness of rubber as the older pad making it more prone to tearing during motor installation. If Cabela's offers the Tempo pad again, I am switching back in a heartbeat.

Great product. Helps protect my Crestliner's transom.

Beats the old piece of carpet I was using.
