Cabela's Dry-Plus® 3-in-1 Spectrum Parka – Regular

Without a doubt, this is the warmest, most versatile parka in our Dry-Plus lineup. The shell alone is a tough raincoat, but you can wear the thick, 100% polyester fleece liner by itself on cool, dry days or wear both garments for any weather condition. The Dry-Plus Spectrum laminate is waterproof and promotes rapid evaporation. Tightly woven, ultratough 100% nylon Taslan® ripstop shell. Seams are sealed to block moisture, and the mesh liner keeps air circulating. Chin guard and collar are lined with soft warp-knit polyester. Shell has waterproof zippers, two fleece-lined handwarmer pockets, Velcro®-adjustable cuffs and a full-zip front with storm flap. Removable visored hood with crown adjustment. Imported.
Sizes: S-3XL.
Colors: Black, Deep Blue/Black, Smoke/Black, Pine Ridge/Black.
Text Size: AAA

not too bad
Date:
This jacket is good, I really don't like the shell, although it seems to be more waterproof than the other jacket that I had for over 10 years. The problem with the shell is that I liked the earlier version of this jacket where it had pockets that were more roomy. On this version the pockets are smaller with a webbing material on the upper pockets that will eventually tear. Another thing that I find annoying is that velcro on the wrist likes to get caught with the velcro near the zipper. Overall it is a good jacket, I just prefer the earlier version of the shell and would still reccomend this jacket.

Awesome jacket

First off i must say I like cabelas sizing, I'm usually in between an XL and a XXL (I'm 5'11" and 255) and this jacket fits perfect in an XL with just a little room to spare. On to the jacket, I only wear this jacket under 20 degrees otherwise it's too hot. I found the fleece liner makes the coat too heavy so I replaced the liner with a cabelas goose down liner, I wear the fleece jacket liner as its own jacket and It's incredibly warm and comfortable (I hated fleece before this liner). The actual jacket is very comfortable and so far waterproof. Would buy again......at the sale price.

Thank you for your review.

I am attempting to replace a 3-in-1 parka that must be 20 years old. The gore-tex is still waterproof and everything works on it, so I keep it in the car and have recently used it for surf fishing in a downpour. It's just a little too stained for civilized company. :)

Great Parka
Date:
I recently purchase this parka to replace an older Cabela's 3-in-1 parka that I've had for 15+ years. I just wore it out.
As might be expected in 15 years there have been improvements. The outer shell is really waterproof (not quite with the old one) and seals out the wind well. The fleece liner is warm and sharp-looking to boot. The parka is warm. I had a good test of it this morning standing outside waiting for the bus in 5°F weather and a 5-10 mph wind. After ten minutes I could feel some cold getting through, but another layer would have taken care of that if I were going to be outside any longer (and moving around).
Some have mention "tight in the forearm", but that is the cuff on the liner. It is tight, but it seals out the wind and isn't uncomfortable. There are a couple of things that would have made this parka perfect and worthy of a solid 5. The adjusting tabs on the shell cover very little of the Velcro on the cuff, and if you walk around with the parka unzipped you will find your sleeve sticking to the Velcro on the parka. I'm not really sure that you can tighten the tabs enough to make a difference since the liner cuffs are already snug. Lastly, the four zippered pockets in the outer shell are not as deep as I would like for gloves, etc., as they were on my older parka.
My wife thought it looked good, too. I give this parka a 4.5
