Take A Gander At This Goose!

I purchased this on an online sale and found it to be a steal of a deal. Although it is a 550 which is light on the feathers, I found it to be quite warm for this years Idaho Winter Weather. Although this one doesnt come in Tall, XL worked well for me.
I have a step-son who went out in the backwoods with a youth group this weekend and ripped the armpits in his jacket. I plan to replacing it with a Cabela's 700 Down Fairbanks Jacket in the Tall. Cabela's jackets seem to hold their shape and seem to be durable so I am glad I found it. Have to get him ready for next winter! Great trendy coat. :)

This jacket does not show very nicely in the book. I thought it would be better quality. The sleeves are also opened instead of knitted cuffs. It is also to lightweight for New England weather.

Very good value - warm and wind proof

I finally got weather cold enough - mid teens with near zero windchill - to give this jacket a proper test. It passed that test with flying colors.
I had though that I might need to use this under a windproof shell today, but I didn't need one, even walking directly into a 10 to 15 mph wind. Very comfortable with no draft problems at the bottom or the zipper.
I have a long waist and I'm pretty thin - 160 lb, 5' 11" tall, with a 33" waist - a medium in this jacket fits me well. It is long enough to go down several inches below my waist and fit snugly there.
I have two other down jackets that were MUCH more expensive than this one, but I think this one will be my favorite in cold and windy conditions.
