If citronella candles and other old-fashioned methods for keeping mosquitoes away just aren’t working for you, fire up the ThermaCELL Portable repellent and enjoy your next outing in bug-free peace. A butane cartridge heats a chemically treated repellent mat that keeps mosquitoes, black flies, no-see-ums and sand flies out of a 225-sq.-ft. area for up to 12 hours. Fully cordless and portable and requires no messy wax. Tested and approved by the U.S. Army and currently used by soldiers in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan. Odorless and DEET-free. EPA-approved. Includes one butane cartridge and three chemically treated mats. Comes with a clip-on holster for convenient carry.

This ThermaCELL Mosquito Repellent is not designed to run at altitudes above 4,500 feet. The manufacturer states that units become difficult to start and run at altitudes above 4,500 feet above sea level.

GREAT LITTLE UNIT

After reading the reviews on this unit, I purchased (2) of them and had the opportunity to use them in several different settings. One was on my deck, the second was in the fields dove hunting and the third was on the deck of a cabin in northern Minnesota where we had a good bunch of mosquitoes. In all three instances the unit worked as advertised. One of the key review items that caught my eye was the success of it, while turkey hunting in the spring and the other was for bear huunting in the fall. Minnesota bear season is in prime mosquito time. The Thermacell did it's job and I'm satisfied completely.

I purchased my thermacell 2 years ago. Went to Quebec this past May for spring bear season. I had a bear within 3 feet of my tree stand, and he never Caught a scent of it. There were no bugs anywhere near me,until my propane ran out. Quiickly replaced propane and the bugs stayed away Now i will not go hunting without it!

These things actually work. Used it last spring in Texas while hunting for coyote and bobcats. The bugs were awful, but the thermacell actually kept them away. Must have for spring turkey and early archery seasons.
