Sawyer Duranon Permethrin Insect Repellent

  • Kills biting insects
  • Application lasts up to six weeks
  • Odorless when dry
Developed in cooperation with the U.S. military, government agencies, universities and others, this repellent offers superior protection from disease-carrying biting insects. The active ingredient is Permethrin, developed from a substance called pyrethrin found in certain flowers. Not only does this product repel insects, but it actually kills ticks, mosquitoes, chiggers, mites and more than 100 other kinds of insects. Sawyer Duranon repellents are not for use on skin, but on your clothing, tents and other gear. A single application can last up to six weeks and will remain effective even if you wash the garment once a week. Permethrin is odorless when dry, and during the drying process it chemically bonds with the fibers of the treated garment, but will not stain or damage clothing, fabrics, plastics, finished surfaces, or any of your outdoor gear.
Available: 9-oz. aerosol can, 24-oz. spray.

Great Product
Date:
Bad dry year for ticks. I treated prior to my hunt and never had a single tick throughout the hunt. There are many sprays now available, but this product allows you to totally soak you hunting gear for total coverage

No tick problem.
Date:
This was to be the worst tick year (2012) in a long time. I sprayed my boots and clothing as directed and I have had no ticks on me for the last month that I have scouted or hunted spring gobblers. It certainly appears to work and I plan on using this product for a long time.

Turkey hunting in Nebraska
Date:
With an unusually warm March in the Mid-West the insects, especially ticks, went into overdrive. Knowing I would be sitting for many hours in the Nebraska woods while persuing that infamous longbeard I went to Cabelas and asked what they recommended for tick repellent.
They recommended Sawyer Duranon Permethrin and it worked great. Treating my clothes and gear was easy and hassle free. Several times I found ticks crawling on my clothes and would watch them to see how far they would go on the treated material. With every inch they crawled a little slower until some couldn't crawl anymore. This product will always be part of "hunting gear".
