Great spinner!
Date:
I've always been a Panther Martin fan! Never really had any success with any of the Mepps spinners, until now! On April fifteenth, opening day, I tied on a red, silver Mepps Aglia Bright, and on the first cast, I caught a twelve inch, sea run Brooky! I have never, ever done that in the last thirty years I've been fishing!
The spinner feels right! It runs well, either up or down stream. Heavy enough for nice long casts! Doesn't take much to keep it spinning! The hooks are a bit small, but that's OK
Tight lines!
Be safe!

Typical Mepps Excellence
Date:
My passion has been to stalk Brown Trout in smaller streams for around 50 years now. I have tried most spinner brands. I always come back to Mepps. My long term favorite has been a plain gold #2 Aglia. I decided to experiment with a few of this new rendition. I tried a #2 gold blade with red body last Friday. One of my best days ever, producing 7 trout between 15 and 20 inches. I am not sure if it was just luck, but I was able to release all the fish with very little handling and twisting the hook free with needle nosed pliers. The treble on this model is somewhat smaller than a normal Aglia. Otherwise, these spinners cast well, spin nicely even when casting upstream into brisk currents, create little line twist, and generally behave like a typical Mepps. A good new version of a reliable old friend.
