Great hard-water combos with rods featuring a 100% composite blank, aluminum-oxide guides, a P-cork handle and matching XTP20 spinning reels with two fluid ball bearings. The jigging rod is good

I bought the 28" for crappie and panfish. The rod alone is really nice. It has good action and the sensativity is nice. Since some the the larger crappie I target tend to hold something in their mouth and the strikes aren't easily detected, this rod should help with that.

The negative to the combo is the reel. That is why I only gave it 3 stars. The drag is not smooth. I have hooked and landed 6lb lakers while fishing for panfish on 4lb test with other combos because the drag was smooth and it allowed me to play the fish out. This drag is sticky which causes the rod to load up and puts too much pressure on the line at unpredicatable times. It will serve as a back up reel until it can be replaced with a Shimano, which would be the ultimate combo in my opinion.
