Cabela's Alaskan Guide® Model Frame

  • Lightweight yet tough aluminum construction
  • Quiet, simple-to-adjust webbing attachment points
  • Holster-compatible hip belt
  • Generously padded shoulder straps for comfortable carry
Our Alaskan Guide Model® Pack Frames can handle the toughest backcountry onditions. They're ruggedly engineered to not only ensure you can get all your gear into the most remote hunting camp, but to also offer a no-hassle way to pack out meat, capes and antlers following a successful outing. Unlike traditional frames that use noisy, hard-to-adjust pin-and-ring attachment systems, the Guide Model's® lightweight, yet tough aluminum frame has quiet, simple-to-adjust webbing attachment points to guarantee in-the-field silence and ultraquick adjustments as well. The holster-compatible hip belt and shoulder straps are heavily padded for comfortable carrying. And the belt is Nylex-lined to prevent perspiration buildup in warmer conditions.

Nice upgrade
Date:
I purchased the Alaskan Guide frame to replace my freighter that I also purchased from Cabela's in 1990. Why did I wait so long? I was fortunate to haul a 6x6 bull out 3.5 miles. The pads and adjustments are great. Nice pack!

Good Unit
Date:
Haven't had the opportunity to hall out a trophy with it but I did load it down and put it on to make sure it was going to work like I wanted it to before heading to the mountains to find out it wasn't what I thought. Felt comfortable loaded.

Durable, but leverage point is wrong
Date:
I've used this pack to haul out several elk. My only complaint is that the folding shelf is below the hip-belt. This causes the weight of a loaded pack to pull away from your back, instead of pushing the weight onto the hip-belt.
I would give this a 5 star rating if the folding shelf was above the hip-belt.

Nice frame

I use mine for as a multi tasker. Camping and hunting as well as prospecting. Works great for hauling motors and such to remote spots. It has stood up well to some rough duty. I am going to buy the pack for it so I can use it even more.
