A Little Heavy
Date:
This pack is well built, and I like the placement of all the pockets. The fabric is decently quiet and still durable. My biggest complaint is the weight of the pack. One major reason I went with this pack is because the stated weight was only 6.9 oz for the medium size. Both on Cabelas and Badlands website. I took it out of the packaging and weighed it. It weighed about 8 1/2 pounds. I still plan on keeping it because of Badlands' best of the business warranty. Ideally I was looking for an extended trip pack that has a lifetime warranty, is durrable, quiet enough for bowhunting and weighs only 6 lbs. I will just have to put up with the extra couple pounds I suppose.

great in all fields
Date:
I purchased this pack previous to the high-buck hunt in the Paseyten wilderness. I am an avid backpacker and chose this pack with dual standards: has to be a good recreational pack, AND a good hunting pack. During the high hunt I hiked an estimated 40 miles in 3-4 days with this pack on; it preformed flawlessly. A lot of people give it a bad rap about the zippers, this is, I believe, because the zippers are made to not open unintentionally. I stuffed my pack to the gills and the Zippers worked totally fine under high pressure. All in all this is a high quality backpack that will go the extra mile and last a while.

Badlands 4500 Mountain Goat Hauler
Date:
My new Badlands 4500 pack performed very well packing out a mountain goat and all of our camping gear and food on a recent Colorado high elevation hunt. Very functional and comfortable with extremely heavy loads. Roomy pockets and very stable. Everything that I expected after doing much research on other packs. The only thing that is keeping me from the 5 star rating is the functionality of the zippers. They take extra effort to close properly. Otherwise, excellent gear and definitely would recommend to others.

DON'T BUY THIS BRAND!!!!!!!!!
Date:
Don't purchase this pack if you are a serious backpacker or hunter. The pack design etc is great, but the zippers are substandard and fail. In trying to deal with the company and their lifetime guarantee, I found I had to send it to UTAH at my cost, $20 each way, and they could not telll me when I was getting it back!!! So much for a guarantee!!!! I am not sure the person I had to deal with knew what a backpack was!!! I returned the entire pack to Cabelas in Reno when I was passing through on my way to Colorado on a camping/fishing trip with no hassles. I think Cabelas should quit selling this item based on the cost, substandard zipper quality and poor customer service of the manaufacturer!!!
