I have a smaller one I have used as a GPS pouch in sub alpine 4,000 ft hills of Alaska, bad lands of Montana and central Minnesota, I always tether my GPS to the backpack just in case the pouch pops loose, can\u2019t be in the middle of nowhere and take any risks but overall it is well made and handy.
Well I bought the new Cabela's Bow/Rifle pack last year and needed a compartment that is easy to access in a hurry. The Buddy-Lok is just that. I chose the small size to hold just the range finder and mouth calls. What a great feature to be able to add-on. Love this item
I have several of these, mounted to several belts. I use a 2-part hunting belt, where an outer layer velcros to the main belt, and the velcro on this pouch mates with the belt, locking the pouch in place.
I use this pouch with a small camera, and, unfortunately, it's not waterproof - so I also have to have a zip-lock bag available. If the fabric was coated on the back side and the zipper was waterproof, I'd give it an unqualified 5-stars.
I bought one several years ago and it works great as an accessory to my pack. It holds my camera and rangefinder well, keeps them dry and I have never lost anything out of it.
