The so-called "squirrel rifle" by necessity had to be accurate to handle small, often distant targets and Cabela's Blue Ridge™ rifles live up to that tradition. These precision-rifled 39" browned octagonal barrels with 1 turn in 48" (1-in-65 in .54 cal.) twist deliver exceptional precision with patched round balls, plus the .45, .50 and .54 caliber will handle conical bullets surprisingly well. 8 lands and grooves (7 in .32 and .36 caliber).
Flintlocks have large, sure-spark frizzen and ample priming pan. Locks are color case-hardened. Adjustable double-set, double-phase triggers. Buttplate and trigger guard are polished brass.
Percussion models have drum and bolster system.
