I have used the LO67 for years, both as a saltwaterand as a freshwater hook. I am partial to the #4 and #6 hook for tying clousers for both the salt and freshwater; using large bead-chain eyes and keeping the material sparse, the LO67 allows the clouser fly to be cast in the gulf coast winds, and it also has a great sink rate. The billy pate hooks are easily sharpened and will hold their sharpness even when dealing with the oyster beds on the gulf coast. The hooks have a nice hook gap, which gives a better hookset than many similar hooks, especially when using weighted clousers. On Lake Caddo, in East Texas, our favorite pattern for fly fishing for white bass, crappie, and yellow bass is also a clouser tied on a #6 LO67 using the larger brass eyes, and bucktail tied on the shank opposite the hookpoint, with no wing; the LO67 is heavy enough to get to the necessary depth quickly. I also use the #2 hook with lighter bead chain eyes for a shallower presentation. It is a good overall hook. It is an economical hook, costing much less than comparable hooks. Try em; you'll like em.
