"Chop" sides won’t interfere with shouldering guns
Dynamic-Level Sound Compression technology
Automatic Gain Control
Made in USA
The Stalker Gold hearing-protection muffs have soft material covering the cups and "chop" sides that don’t interfere with shouldering guns. They feature Dynamic-Level Sound Compression™ technology with Automatic Gain Control™ that amplifies softer sounds up to 70dB. 50dB of gain can increase hearing up to eight times more than normal. Hunters can turn up the gain to hear soft sounds in the woods in stereo and still have protection from loud noises without the annoying hissing sound. The Gold Series offers the first built-in microprocessor. It provides onboard diagnosis and supports new features like automatic shutoff, audible battery meter and the cleanest, most natural sound in hearing protection (eliminates 80% of white noise). A 3.5mm input jack allows you to listen to AM/FM radios, CD players, MP3 players and FRS radios. This modular unit has a comfortable, padded, adjustable headband. Included batteries provide up to 200 hours of continuous operation. Noise reduction rating (NRR) of 25dB. Five-year warranty. Made in USA. Weight: 10 oz. Color/camo pattern: Green, Realtree MAX-4®.
I have the Pro Ears Dimension "1" product but can state these are very reliable products. I have used Pro Ears for the last 10 years. I use them at the gun club during our annual "Hunter Sight In Days" as well as hunting, and other shooting activities.
I just purchased a 2nd set in case my wife goes along shooting or they could be a back up should I have a problem with my initial pair.
They are comfortable, really cut down on shooting noise, the batteries last, but it is always a good idea to have an extra set with you. They are size "N" size and not always available.
I have been hunting & shooting with my new muffs and i am very pleased with them. They performed as in the the reviews & they do everything you mentioned.Four of us shot 15 young goats over a three day period, four of which are now in my freezer.
I used these ear muffs on a recent 5 day prairie dog hunt in South Dakota. I wore them approximately 5 hours each day and they were very comfortable and lightweight. The reception was great with adjustment for each ear. The wind was approximately 15mph one day and had to adjust the volume to compensate to eliminate wind noise, but they still allowed for normal conversation. I did not feel they amplified the sound 10X but did work very well. We were shooting .308, 22-250, 204 and 17 calibers. All of the shot noise was reduced to a comfortable level and you could still hear the bullet impact the targets. I would suggest buying extra batteries as they are not a normal size available at the local stores. Although the muffs are expensive, they are a great product and well worth the money if you do any shooting and communicate with other shooters.
