I purchased these after my Caldwell Low Profile E-Max earmuffs stopped working. The Caldwell's only lasted about 6 months before the shot suppression stopped working. So I thought I'd spend a little more on the Howard Leight's to give them a try. Unfortunately, they don't work at all. At least I got 6 months out of my Caldwell's. The Howard Leight's do nothing for sound suppression. All they do is amplify ALL sounds including gunshots! They are worthless. I've tried the top sellers at the bottom-end. I guess I'll try some mid or top-end electronic earmuffs next.

GOOD FOR TRAP PULLERS

I've had these for 4 months and they work great for pulling trap. I'm 65 y/o with poor hearing and they amplify really well. I can hear conversations at 100 feet better than at five feet without them. I've used them on windy days and there is no wind noise or hissing. The trap boys at the gun club like them because they do not turn off at the shot or when a gun closes. I let them try them, now they want to borrow them all the time. We have another type that shuts off completely, which is good for the shooter or for indoor ranges.

A must for serious hunters and shooters

I read a lot of reviews before ordering two pairs of these. They met and exceeded expectations. I can not see why you would need to spend more money on other models. How much better could they be?

I tested them out on a very windy day and expected a lot of distortion. The wind was not a problem, could hear the birds like they were right next to us when they were 75-100 yrds away. I could hear the leafs making noise under my feet yet when shooting a .45 acp was just like wearing normal hearing protection. They do not fit quit as \u201csnug\u201d as just regular muffs but they did fit better after wearing them for a while. I don\u2019t know how I survived without them all these years. I can wait to try them while hunting. Cabelas needs to price match. You can find them cheaper other places, but can use cabelas bucks then. As big as Cabelas is they should be able to offer the lowest prices.
