Cabela's Military Spec Boonie Hat

This comfortable, functional bucket-design hat style had its origins in the military. Made of soft poly/cotton twill (Blaze Orange is 100% acrylic), it’s perfect for all-around outdoor use. Webbing surrounds the ventilated crown, and it has an adjustable fabric chin strap. Hand wash only. Imported.

Excellent boonie hat

Boonie hats have long been my preference for bow hunting. I purchased the hat in mil-spec and real tree MAx 4 last summer(2011). The mi-spec hat was used on an August antelope hunt, 10 day muley and elk bowhunt, and then several times in fall/winter for waterfowl.
The mil-spec pattern is perfect for sagebrush. The hat kept my head cool and shaded in the heat. With occasional soakings it did even better. Later in the year with temps in the upper teens, the uninsulated hat was surprisingly warm.
It has held up to water, dirt, lots of sweat, briars and branches. Very softy and comfortable. While not fleece silent, it was quiet enough when slipping through the pines.The price was quite reasonable.
If you like Boonie style hats, I fully recommend this one.

Great hat and good quality, the only bad thing you need to consider when ordering is that they do run a bit small in the size. Other than that, it's a great hat!
