These struts offer hands-free convenience for accessing lids, hatches, windows, doors or any frequently used hinged opening. They'll hold open heavy lids, letting you search through gear with both hands. Heavy-duty steel construction with a black powder-coated finish. Gas springs are constructed of 316 stainless steel coated with heat cured paint. The o-ring insures proper sealing to force oil toward the orifice piston. It contains hydraulic fluid specially formulated to provide end of travel damping.The piston assembly provides precise control during the extension stroke. To get the right fit, measure the compressed length, extended length and read the lbs.-of-force rating on your existing strut.
