T-H Hatch Latch

With an easy-to-grip, flip-up, two-finger handle, these waterproof latches mount in aluminum, fiberglass and carpeted lids up to 3/4" thick. Powder-coated steel pawls withstand the elements through years of use and come in a straight or offset design to best fit your boat's storage compartments. The waterproof O-ring seal keeps moisture from penetrating through to your gear. Available in a locking or non-locking version. Mounts in a 2-3/8" to 2-1/2" hole.

Unacceptable Design When Unlocked

I ordered these to replace broken Perko lid locks for my front fishing deck. The material felt superior to the Perko ones that I was replacing, but the design of the T-H one is such that when they are unlocked the latch locking mechanism protrudes above the latch about a half inch. Since the lid is usually unlocked, especially when I am fishing on it, I do not want the retaining screw and locking mechanism to stick up so that I might trip on it, snag my line on it, or otherwise have it get in the way. I returned them to Cabelas.

The locks did the job for me. I did not what to have to take things out of my boat each time I came home .It was my answer to what I needed!! Also looks good.

So far so good...Put on Lowe fs 165 on rear hatch on battery compartment. Bought to keep batteries safe. Key and lock are pretty Generic, however, it keeps it locked and gives me peace of mind. If someone REALLY wants my batteries I feel they can easy break through but who's to say they wouldn't anyways. For the average thief I feel this product will work and keep my batteries safe while camping or during storage. Extremely easy to put in, though my holes were pre-cut and was just replacing a non-locked hatch with a locked hatch.

In a nut shell: Perfect latch if you'd like to have peace of mind for your investments, however, product is not bullet proof and good thief could break into....

Ordered 9 new latches to replace my old ones on my Ranger. They fit right in the holes and were a easy fix. Compartments all fit alot tighter now. Just waiting for rain for the real test.
