SPRO BBZ-1 Swimbait

  • Phenomenal color replication
  • Realistic eyes
  • Super-flexible, triple-jointed body
This is the Bill Siemantel Signature Swimbait that sets the standard for all other lures of its kind. Phenomenal color replication, realistic eyes and a super-flexible, triple-jointed body enable the BBZ-1 to generate movements so lifelike you may think a real fish is following your line the first few times you cast. Hungry bass and pike won't be able to resist the tempting twitches you can produce on the retrieve. The BBZ-1 comes in a slow-sinking version. Per each.

    Still a work in progress?
    Date:
I've purchased several swimbaits in many different sizes and I would rate these above the tungsten version (which I feel are way overpriced), but well below some of the others. Here is a breakdown on fish caught with some of the different swimbaits: Tru-tungsten large and small in all versions=2 nice bass large mouths above 16 inches in 3 hours of fishing.
Spro bbz in small version and 6" size=0 fish and 1 nice bass on the smaller size in 2 hours fishing.
Strike pro flex x and flex phantom cleaned up. Smaller sized flex phantom =40 bass in about 4 1/2 hours fishing. Flex x=34 bass in about the same amount of time. (It didnt matter what size, from 4 1/4 to 4 3/4 or 3 1/4, they were all productive.)
Same lake with some different days in there, but this is a big difference in output. I did fish the spo one day and swithced back to the phantom and went from nothing to about 5 bass in 1/2 hour.
Biggest difference I noticed in the lures is that the strike pro series are much better at fishing different depths, from just about the weed levels to suspending areas to upper levels. You can speed up your speed to accomplish this easy and fish strike these lures at any speed as the lures in this series maintains good movement at all levels.
Sorry Spro, the stats dont lie...And the strike pro are even less on the pocket book.

    catches big fish
    Date:
I have used the SPRO swimbait for the past three years, and have caught only large fish> Each year I have caught at least one northern pike of 40 inches or more. This summer I caught a 28 inch walleye. All were caught trolling slowly through a river channel. I would not go fishing without one of these lures.

    Awesome Lure
    Date:
I used this lure today for the first time. I caught one pike in one hour of fishing. That would not be impressive if the fish wasnt 38" and 10lbs. Great lure I am gonna order more.

Not just for bass - deadly on big walleyes!
    Date:
After getting talked into fishing for walleyes at night and catching them on traditional gear, I just had to try out some of my big bass gear on them - after all, big walleyes eat big fish and the BBZ-1 is a good big fish imitator. Turns out that walleye, especially big walleye will hammer the 8" BBZ-1 when it is slowly waked on the surface or the slow-sink worked back at 2 - 5 feet deep. Just don't try to cast it on a rod that isn't rated for big swimbaits.
