This long-casting, suspending and rattling bait cuts hard and darts aggressively while maintaining Rapala’s classic swimming action. Textured translucent body, prominent scales and lateral line capture and reflect light. Internal weight-transfer system for casting distance. Flash foil teaser tail. VMC® pyramid point hooks penetrate tough-mouthed fish and hold fast. Per each. Sizes:
The fish always come when I toss this bait out. The casting system make this lure cast like a bullet! When nothing is in the shallows, I toss this bait out, rip it through the water as quick as possible, and the bass home in on it as if it's scented. Great Bait!
I have a box full of these for early, pre-spawn smallie fishing up here in NH and Maine. Nothing works better than dead-sticking these X-Raps on the edges of flats and shoals when the water finally gets around 50 degrees. The bass can't resist sneaking up and crushing these baits as they lay suspended along these edges. Nothing works better in cold water, period. Gotta love the X-Rap!
Not a traditional jerk bait but it gets the job done. Be sure to keep a little slack on the line while jerking. I found that a quicker retrieve triggers more bites. I've caught many walleyes on the St Croix river with the XR8 model (Rusty Crawded). Overall it's a great lure for in-shore fishing or if your casting towards the shore. The only thing bad about the lure is that the paint job isn't very durable. Avoid colors like the yellow perch, they don't have that nice flash when under water. The two best colors for me are Rusty Crawdad (great for darker waters) and the Glass ghost (great for clearer waters).
I used this lure when fishing for largemouth bass and it was awesome! I caught either the biggest or second biggest bass of my life on this lure. I retrieved this lure steadily and it got hammered by the bass. I'm glad i bought braid for my reel otherwise I would have lost him. The bass was 6 lbs and 23 inches long. Great lure!! I also catch big bluegill with this lure.
